Home/Eco

The Eco range

One material.
Nothing to separate.

A tin built entirely from tinplate — no plastic liner, no laminate, no adhesive.

Plastic-free cannabis packaging, child-resistant to 16 CFR 1700.20 and recyclable in the same stream as a food can.

The mechanism

Why steel recycles
when other packaging doesn’t.

Recycling is a sorting problem before it is a materials problem. What follows is why steel survives the sort — a different claim from calling a tin recyclable, and the one that decides whether it actually gets recycled.

It’s magnetic.

Steel is pulled out of mixed waste automatically at the sorting facility.

No manual separation, no consumer decision, no wish-cycling.

It’s one material.

Nothing to peel apart.

Mixed-material packaging has to be separated before it can be processed, which is usually why it isn’t.

It doesn’t degrade.

Steel recycles indefinitely without loss of quality.

The same steel comes back as steel, not as something lower down the chain.

The Eco specification is the option built to that description: all tinplate, nothing else in it, at the same minimum and the same certification as anything else we make.

The numbers

92% Global recycling rate, tinplate

The highest of any packaging material.

98% Sorting purity, magnetic separation

Pulled from mixed waste mechanically.

30% Of primary-production energy

What it costs to make steel from steel.

Cycles without downcycling

Steel returns as steel, at the same grade.

US rates run lower than global — around 70% — because of collection infrastructure, not the material.

The difference

The same tin,
without the liner.

An Eco line is not a different product. It is the same certified closure, specified in one material.

Standard range

Tinplate body and lid, with a plastic inner liner or jar.

The body and the lid are steel and separate magnetically. The liner is one part, and it is there because it is doing something.

Eco range

The same certified mechanism, plastic removed entirely. All tinplate.

One material in, one material out. Nothing to take apart before it goes in the steel stream.

Which of the two you specify is a conversation about the product, and it takes about a minute. Ask, and we’ll tell you which build we’d put it in — including when that answer is the standard one.

Samples

Hold one before
you specify it.

We’ll send the Eco lines and their standard counterparts, so you can feel what the liner was doing.
